Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru is running its biggest dining lineup refresh in years, with six F&B brands opening between August and October 2026. Announced on 16 July, the slate runs from China's viral Luckin Coffee making its JB debut to Johor's own Verrona Hills Bread & Patisserie, and it reshapes the mall's Ground Floor and dining mix ahead of the August school holiday period.
The timing is forward-looking: most of these openings are weeks away, so the value here is knowing what's coming and when to plan a trip around it. Paradigm Mall sits on the Skudai Highway in Taman Bukit Mewah, roughly 15 minutes from the JB CIQ, and it's the mall that already anchors the J-BIO concept and ice skating, so a serious F&B upgrade strengthens its pull against Mid Valley Southkey and Toppen.
Luckin Coffee: China's Giant Makes Its JB Debut in October
The headline name is Luckin Coffee, opening in October. The chain has grown to more than 33,500 outlets worldwide and already runs over 80 stores across Malaysia, but a Paradigm Mall JB outlet puts it squarely in the JB mall circuit. Luckin is built on an app-first ordering model, and the brand's pull is creative drinks: the Coconut Latte is its global best-seller, the Little Butter Latte is the richer option, and the app regularly runs new-user deals from RM2.99 plus buy-one-free-one promotions. For JB's coffee crowd, this is the most competitive new entrant.
Opening in August, Beryl's brings Malaysia's homegrown chocolate brand into Paradigm. The company exports to more than 15 countries and its range runs from chocolate-coated almonds, hazelnuts and macadamias to the Tiramisu Series in milk, dark and white chocolate. It's the souvenir-and-gift layer of the new slate.
The September Openings: Kumo Kumo and Pepper Lunch
September brings two openings. Kumo Kumo Cheese is the Shanghai-origin bakery known for light, fluffy Japanese-style souffle cheesecakes baked fresh through the day, and its orange storefront has become a social media fixture. Beyond the Original flavour, expect rotating seasonal options like Durian and Dubai Chocolate.
Pepper Lunch arrives the same month. The Japanese fast-casual chain is built on sizzling iron plates that stay hot at the table, with diners mixing the meal themselves so the meat finishes cooking in the signature sauces. The classic order is the Beef Pepper Rice with thinly sliced beef, rice, sweet corn and black pepper, with steak platters, chicken and salmon combinations, hotplate pasta and Japanese curry rounding out the menu.
Verrona Hills and Nando's: JB Homegrown Plus a Crowd Favourite
Verrona Hills Bread & Patisserie is the JB homegrown name on the slate. The bakery is known for using French butter across handcrafted pastries and breads, with more than 80 freshly baked varieties. The signatures are the Basque Cheese Tissue Toast and the soft Charcoal Swiss Roll, alongside a wider viennoiserie and sweet range. For Paradigm, having a local JB brand in the mix signals that this isn't just imported chains.
Nando's rounds out the six with its Afro-Portuguese flame-grilled chicken, marinated for 24 hours before grilling over an open flame. The menu carries burgers, wraps, sharing platters and the classic sides like PERi-PERi fries, coleslaw and spicy rice.
