LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort's first MERDEKA Fest runs 27 August to 20 September 2026 at The Beginning in the Theme Park. The opening spectacular block ended 6 September. From 7 to 13 September the park is in Cultural Week. From 14 to 20 September it closes with the Unity Grand Finale farewell show. You still need a valid theme park ticket. Fest activities sit inside the park, not at the ticket booths.
The stamp card and the builds that stay up
The MERDEKA Fest Challenge is a stamp-and-redeem loop. Complete the listed activities, collect stamps, redeem a prize while stocks last. Official stations named on the event page:

The Jalur Gemilang mural is the one guests actually photograph. TRP's 2 September Malay-language report describes guests adding bricks to a shared flag-and-map table. The colouring and discovery quest are the slower stations if you have younger kids who will not last a full ride circuit plus a workshop.
The 28 to 31 August contests, speed build, costume, batik painting, singing, are over. Do not queue for those. The remaining draw is Cultural Week performances and the Saturday cultural slot, then the 14 to 20 September farewell block.
Cultural Week workshops, then the finale
TRP lists hands-on workshops during Cultural Week: Joget 1 Malaysia, Zapin Warisan, Kuda Kepang, Magunatip, and batik canting. Stage sets named for the week include traditional Malaysian dance, serumpun folk dance and Borneo dance. A special cultural performance is listed every Saturday. Schedules can change. The Unity Grand Finale farewell show, 14 to 20 September, is the last window if you missed Merdeka weekend. Water Park was closed to the public on Saturday 5 September for a private booking. That date is past. Confirm Water Park hours separately if you bought a combo ticket, because the fest itself is Theme Park, The Beginning.
Day tickets start from RM69 online. Children under 3 enter free. MyKad holders can buy an Annual Pass at the day-ticket price. Combo tickets add Water Park and SEA LIFE. Book on the tickets page rather than the gate if you want the from-RM69 rate.
The resort is at 7, Persiaran Medini Utara 3, 79250 Iskandar Puteri, Johor. From Johor Bahru, drive the coastal highway toward Medini. From Singapore, CIQ then west toward LEGOLAND. Peak weekends in this window stack Cultural Week crowds with school-holiday leftovers. Go on a weekday if you want time at the mural table.
