Kanbe Ramen at AEON Mall Tebrau City occupies Lot G138 on the ground floor, bringing its signature pork bone broth ramen to Johor Bahru as the brand's first outlet in the state. Originating from Kuala Lumpur and Mont Kiara where it has built a strong reputation among ramen enthusiasts, Kanbe offers a customisable ramen experience with diners selecting their preferred soup richness and noodle firmness.
The menu features eight soup flavours: Shiro (original), Kuro (black garlic), Goma (sesame), Aka (spicy), Sakura (sakura shrimp), Yuzu (citrus), Kohaku (bonito), and a seasonal special. The pork bone broth is simmered for 48 hours for depth of flavour. Self-serve condiment and topping stations at each table allow further customisation. Tsukemen (dipping noodles), a rare offering in Malaysia, is also available. Side dishes include crispy plump shrimp and Japanese omelette with red caviar cheese sauce.
The outlet operates from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily and features an open kitchen where diners can watch the chefs at work. Free refills of oolong tea and water are provided, and customers use a traditional Japanese hand bell (buraraku) to call staff rather than a conventional call button.

We ordered 6 bowls with varying flavors - aka, shiro, yuzu and kuro. All superbly delicious and flavourful. We also ordered the roasted sweet potatoes with honey, croquettes, and egg rolls with caviar cheese. All were good as well. Croquette was a little salty for me. Would love to come back again for my ramen fix!
